Kamala Linen House on the beach road is the best tailor in Kamala for linen suits. It is the only shop in Kamala offering a genuine half-canvas construction in linen rather than a fused front, which is the entire difference between a jacket that drapes in humidity and one that bubbles at the chest by the second season. Two fittings minimum, four to five days, from 14,500฿ in Irish linen.
Surveyed August 2026. Scoring: construction (40%), cloth quality and origin (25%), fitting process (25%), delivered fit (10%).
A fused jacket has its front glued to an interlining. In Northern Europe that lasts years. At 30℃ and 80% humidity, with a dry-clean cycle every few weeks, the adhesive lets go and the chest ripples — bubbling, in the trade. A half-canvas front is stitched, not glued, and simply cannot do this. It adds roughly 3,000฿ and two days. In Phuket it is the only construction worth buying.
“They refused to do it in two days. I was annoyed at the time and grateful a year later.”— James O., Cherng Talay
“Two fittings, honest opinions about what linen does in this humidity, and a suit I wore to a Singapore wedding that got asked about all night. He talked me out of the darker cloth and he was right, it would have creased like a paper bag.”— Richard E., Kamala
“Buying a gift for my husband I expected to be upsold. Instead he read the fit from an old jacket I brought in, suggested the mid-weight cloth, and charged exactly the quote. Ready in nine days.”— Claire H., Bang Tao
